Our School

I believe St Christopher’s offers a happy, safe and friendly environment for children and their families. The staff team are experienced and dedicated to their roles in education. We believe in being inclusive and aim to provide an education which meets the needs of every individual. Our curriculum is therefore broad, balanced and enriched with extra learning opportunities.

As St Christopher’s stands on the edge of the picturesque village of Langford, surrounded by beautiful countryside, it is easy to be inspired by the opportunities to take learning outside. Our own grounds include a large field with nature areas, forest school and a pond, a wooden play area, a sheltered quiet area, prayer space and an all-weather AstroTurf pitch. These wonderful grounds allow a variety of outdoor learning to be part of our curriculum. We encourage a healthy lifestyle by providing a rich programme of sports and physical activities, both as part of the curriculum, and through after school clubs. Year 6 pupils are given the opportunity to go on a week-long residential to try more adventurous outdoor pursuits. From year 2 the school provides swimming lessons as part of the PE programme at RAF Brize Norton pool. School dinners are cooked on site by The School Lunch Company and offer children the option of a healthy hot meal at lunchtime. Fruit is provided under the Government funded 5 a day scheme for key stage 1 children and older children are encouraged to bring a healthy snack for break time. The children from EYFS up to Year 3 enjoy child led provision as part of their busy time, we believe this promotes independence and creativity. A variety of music is available both within the curriculum and as private lessons.

I hope this gives you a flavour of what our school can offer. Please continue to browse our website and find out more about the school, the staff, the curriculum and our afterschool provision or you are welcome to come and visit us.
