Design and Technology

Intent

At St Christopher’s School, we believe that Design Technology should engage, inspire and challenge pupils. By planning, making and evaluating, all children will develop the knowledge, skills and understanding to experiment with and create their own design pieces. Children should build their understanding of design, as well as its contribution to the culture and creativity of our nation, through the careful evaluation of past and present design projects. We believe that children should be given many opportunities to design a variety of projects in a range of contexts, which link to their learning in Topic and other subjects. Children will draw on their learning from Maths, Art, Science and Computing, whilst developing a critical understanding of the design and making process.
