Nurture

At St. Christopher’s we firmly believe that children’s social and emotional needs are as equally important as their academic needs. Nurture is the responsibility of every member of staff.

We run interventions across school for those children who may require extra support in;

Lack of self-confidence/low self-esteem, Friendships, Home circumstances, including support for service families, Behaviour traits.

Sometimes concerns arise in school, other times, issues may present at home. Whatever the circumstances, no matter how big or small we are there to listen and talk things through in confidence. Our aim is to work together with children, parents/carers and teachers to address and resolve concerns, enabling children to achieve their full social and academic potential.

We are very lucky at St Christopher’s to have a designated space in which to offer our nurture provision. “Debs’ Den” can be found behind Willow and Oak classrooms, and it provides a confidential, secure and warm environment within which to work.
